Jack Meligan

Jack Meligan is the founder and president of Settlement Professionals, Inc., a national plaintiff-loyal settlement planning firm. In addition, Jack is the Founding President of the Society of Settlement Planners, an association of plaintiff settlement planners, structured settlement specialists and special needs settlement planning attorneys from around the country advocating for plaintiff’s rights in the settlement process.
Jack is a Board Certified Forensic Examiner (BCFE) in the field of annuities, and he is also one of the first Registered Settlement Planners (RSP).
As a 25-year veteran of the structured settlement industry, Jack has assisted a multitude of plaintiffs and their attorneys across the U.S. in major, high-dollar, catastrophic injury cases, with comprehensive settlement planning and negotiation assistance.
Settlement planning, a concept pioneered and championed by Jack and his associates, incorporates structured settlements with holistic financial planning and extensive trust planning, including, but not limited to: Special Needs Trusts, Qualified Settlement Funds, Medicare Set-Asides and Settlement Preservation Trusts.
In the past five years he has been a pioneer in designing and implementing solutions for the tax dilemma that plaintiffs encounter when settling substantial taxable damage tort cases.
Jack lives in West Linn, Oregon, with his wife, Kathleen. They have two grown daughters.
