SPI President, Jack Meligan, is also the Founding President of the Society of Settlement Planners whose mission is:
“To assist injury victims, claimants and attorneys in resolving their legal financial claims, and to advocate the injury victim’s right to choose settlement planning advisors and financial and guarantee providers.”
In short, members of the SSP believe in “freedom of choice” (as so famously guaranteed by the U. S. Constitution) and oppose the efforts of casualty companies and self-insured corporations that would attempt to force the injury victim to deal with THEIR annuity brokers and/or THEIR annuity companies, OR force them to take an annuity funded settlement when they don’t want or need one.
